Q. Which size of ferrule do I use on my steel wire rope ?
A. Please refer to our table/instruction chart.
Q. Do I use the nominal or actual rope diameter ?
A. Measure the actual rope diameter using a vernier.
Q. Is actual diameter the only criteria for ferrule selection ?
A. No , the rope fill factor, grade and construction are also important.
Q. The steel wire rope construction I am using is not shown in your table/instruction chart ?
A. Please contact us for recommendations.
Q. When using tapered ferrules how do I know if the dead end of the rope is correctly positioned in the ferrule ?
A. By using our type TKH ferrule which incorporates an inspection hole to confirm rope position inside the ferrule.
Q. Is it possible to swage nylon ropes?
A. Yes but you can not reccon upon to reach full strenght of the termination. With our SYNCRIMP ferrule you can swage nylon ropes and reach about 30-50% of the maximum strenght of the rope.
